Betz White - Birch Fabrics - Cloud9 Fabrics - Cottage Industrialist - Daisy Janie
While giveaways are great and all, there is a serous message behind this one, and it's one I'm sure we've all heard before, but I'm going to say it anyway.
We simply cannot continue on the path of throw away consumerism.
In our little corner of the industry, we want to promote the use of organic fabrics. In particular, those that are sustainable & Global Organic Textiles Standard (GOTS) Certified.
The textile industry uses 25% of the worlds pesticides. 25%!! I can't even fathom how much poison that is, in litres.
The organic textile industry has very specific Standards regarding the use of toxins for something to be classed as organic, and has a hugely positive flow on to the (more often than not 3rd world) communities that grow & produce them. For example, the fields of organic cotton need to be rotated with other crops every few years, which also must be organic. This often means that the communities rotate the cotton with food crops, which means easy access to good quality, organic produce to be eaten and also sold. This, combined with the lack of toxic pesticides, means a hugely increase level of health for the people living around & working the cotton crops. It leads to better local economies, education & working conditions.
(The wonderful Kristen Doran had something to add! She says: I love the eco-friendly side of GOTS certified. But what I love even MORE about GOTS fabrics is the social criteria enforced. There is no forced or bonded labour in these companies. Child labour is not used and working conditions are clean. Working hours do not exceed 48 hours. I could go on... hurray for cotton manufacturers getting on board and looking after the workers. )
If we have to buy, then we must buy organic. It's the least we can do.
Please visit this site for more detailed & (much more) thoroughly researched information. No, no, I insist. Off you go.
We'll wait here...
...Ok, I know you didn't read it but let's continue, if you promise to read it tonight for homework.

Lots of suggestions! I like what you're doing, but maybe you can use more natural dyes?

These colors would make great place mats and napkins. Or pretty purses. Or home office materials like covered folders.
I did read your information on organic cotton farming and organic cotton fabric. Thanks for the education! I would like to see some organic wool suiting also and wool felt, both in colors from natural dyes. I would also love for you to start carrying the Spiral Eye Needle and also support getting these needles into third world cottage industry. These are a made in america product from a grandmother who came up with the idea and patented it (not me... wish it was). Thanks for listening :)

Thank you for this giveaway. Your fabrics are wonderful. I prefer quilting weight cottons and drapable "silky" cottons for clothing. On a side note, pricing needs to be reasonable as a bed quilt requires a lot of fabric.
More bird designs for your fabrics; they are so beautiful! Thanks for the giveaway!
Selection of unprinted organic fabrics dyed with natural dyes co-ordinating with your Tamarillo printed fabrics (I'm madly in love with this range)...to use for lining bags, piping etc.
Totes are a good idea, I know most people have said that one already but with your beautiful designs on them I reckon I'd have to collect a whole set!
So, that and just loads more fabrics, perhaps some lighter weaves too like voiles maybe?
flannels!
Purple! I like the jewel tones. That, and texture. I like fabrics that rely on different weaving or knitting patterns even if there's no dye whatsoever. It might also be great to have bags (purses, sling bags, even fanny packs or knapsacks)-- as long as they have pockets and compartments-- organizing aids instead of the bottomless single cavern....
Upcycled totes for the garden or shopping. Love the fabrics!
lisa.wallig@gmail.com
Your designs are lovely! I would like to see them in more colorways.
Jersey sounds like a winner!

Your designs are yummy!! Thanks for the chance to win.
How about organic ribbons and trims?
Maybe some cool eco friendly buttons?
maybe some reusable shopping bags...
I absolutely LOVE your new tamarind range! Stunning colour! Congratulations on this brilliant giveaway collaboration!
I'd also like to see more organic knits. I want them for myself but also for dressing my daughter.
I tried to sew something with 100% organic materials once... couldn't for the life of me find organic cotton thread.
I'd love to see you guys print on organic cotton knits, I could use a lovely everyday dress with your fabulous prints on it :)

Everything else you sew with then fabric: threads, ribbons, grosgrain, bias tapes, lace (oohhh nice!) etc. Also more kits: pattern+fabric+equipment would be interesting, the wrap skirt is so lovely!
Your colletions are gorgeous. The only thing I would like to see is continued new designs :)
s.e.clarke@gmail.com
I didn't know there was so much already available so I have no suggestions. Thanks for the giveaway!
I'm not sure there is anything left to have you add? After 316 comments what more can I say? I like the idea of some already made items and maybe some quilt battings in either cottons or silk or some other organic material.
You have beautiful patterns. would like to see some cotton tape that coordinates.
while the sling bag is very sweet, i would love another purse pattern kit, maybe a purse with closure or flap so i feel more secure about putting my things in there. thanks!
I would love to see canvas or duck weight fabric for those more durable sewing jobs.
Oh gorgeous! I love the new collection and thanks for the giveaway.
I vote we need more Acacia in different colorways - those birds and leaves are lovely.

More choice of fabrics, some ribbons and tapes! Thanks for the giveaway :)
I'd love to see more colour options for plain fabrics that coordinate with your prints.
this may be crazy but a quilt would be lovely...
The cotton/hemp is lovely... maybe linen/hemp as well? I'm all for fabric, not really into finished goods.
A messenger bag or kit for making one.... lampshades.... great fabric!
i'm just excited to have found your site! i'm not sure what new things i'd like to see from you yet. :) happy earth day!
Matching bias binding. I know I can make my own, but I'd love to buy it already cut and pressed and ready to sew.
I adore to do toys and beautiful summer bags! Your drawings inspire, I would be happy to receive this gift!!
Do you make printed yardage of the Italian wool your scarves are made of? I know it would be pricy, but I would be very interested!
maybe some light weight fabrics?
I personally would love to see some great printed canvas!
Well I love your fabrics as they are but could you sell them in the UK? Please?!
More colors? Great fabric!
Organic knits, as many others have said, would be wonderful!
I love your fabrics. Maybe some fun kids prints.
Maybe fabrics turned into some sort of reusable gift packaging.
I don't have a preference for another product. Just keep your cute prints coming!
Some great ideas above! I think you're doing great things already supplying the world with organic fabric...I say more patterns of that!
Found you via Betz White.
Happy Earth Day Every Day!!
organic printed linien and wool - that would be interesting ;)

I'm all about quilting cottons. Bright happy ones!
A zipper bag kit. The bag would have lots of interior pockets, both zipper pockets and open pockets, in a fabric that contrasted with the bag's exterior. The interior would be in a lighter colorway than the exterior. (Can you tell I've been thinking about it?)

Wool is the best fabric I know- and would be nice to get in your organic and fantastic cool designs!
I would love jersey, wool, or silk!
I think most of my wishes have been said, would love to see some table linens, and home decor items.
Thank you for sharing, your fabrics are lovely!
I am absolutely blown away by the work you guys do. Wow. What would I like to see? I think just more of what you're already doing. It's amazing.
Guys I'm so thrilled by the way you've evolved in your basecloth choices and environmental focus. Your design style was always beautiful but now it's perfect!
In terms of products... I'd love to see I&S sheet sets/ pillowcases, as these are the kinds of thing that crafters just couldn't be bothered making themselves, whereas totes and so forth we enjoy making. For those smaller items, I think you're on a winner with the kit approach, more kits would work for accessories/bags/soozs kids patterns.
I love the idea of jersey too but surely that'd be a nightmare to screenprint? Perhaps you could just supply some jersey/ knit in simple designs.
Ok enough! Continue to love your work. I try to mainly use scraps and reclaimed fabrics but you guys are my new fabric 'treat'!
I would love to see organic medium to heavy weight canvas with cute prints. I make reusable market totes and prefer to use organic fabric when available.
tonyadusold.blogspot.com
I would to see some totes and baby items. Toys, blocks, things for the little ones that are made with sustainable materials.
Lighter weight cotton or knits. Love the patterns!
some kits for making softies or baby items.
I love your fabrics, but I have to say that a lighter weight would be wonderful for quilting.
